Help!!! infopath 2007

Novice, just learning 

I have created an info path form, added a contact selector which brings up the person to email, I have created the context Url as a secondary connection, the form publishes to the library, what data connections do I make for the selected person to receive the email when published.

Sorry, I don't think I have understood the scenario.

When will the user be emailed? When the form is published to the form library? When a button is clicked in the form (perhaps to submit the form)?

I have added a contact selector to choose email addresses from our address book, I want to now generate an automatic email to be sent to the next person inserted into the field to say “the form is now with you to complete your tasks”.  The contact selector works and does generate the person to email in the field in the preview, but doesn’t sent the actual email, I have sceen shots but cant load them.

Hi-

In order to sent an email you'll need a data connection that does so, as well as a destination email. I don't think the contact selector brings in the email address into the form. YOu might want to check by dragging the entire contact selector node into the canvas and displating it in a raw fashion (that is, display the data as fields and not as the contact selector). This will tell you whether, after making a selection in the contact selector, the fields get loaded with an email address.

Thats what i need to know but didnt explain very well, the contact selector is brings in the address book, could you tell me the data connect that does so and the destination data connect.

Sorry, I don't underatand. The contact selector is "internal" to InfoPath. We do not see and cannot control the data connections it uses. Notice that the schema for the contact selector / people picker is read only, that is, the schema is locked and we cannot modify it.

 

Everything about the contact selector is correct I think, it is just not generating the email.  I thought I needed to set up a data connection in the form to recognise the email address.  I am a novice to the contact selector and am desperate to achieve this and to publish the form and it create an email to the person inserted into the “currently With Field” which is the contact selector.

Group 7 (Which is the "Currently with"  contact selector) this has a data connection called "Context.xml" and includes 

"<"Person">" Repeating

"<"DisplayName">" Non Repeating

"<"AccountId">"Non Repeating

"<"AccountType">"Non Repeating

 

When I preview the form I can bring up the contacts to the "Currently With "(Contact Selector) field.  but it does not generate an email, what else do I need to do to make this happen.

I don't believe People Picker / Contact Selector generate an email. They just allow picking a person. I think you would need another web service (UserProfileService, perhaps) to query for a specific user and obtain his/her email address.
