Infopath form rule does not work unless other rules are disabled

    I have 2 rules:

    Rule 1:

If UserLogin is "Paul" and Dept is different than 60100 Action---->Blank out employee information (this is to prevent Paul from seeing an employee from other Departments

    Rule 2:

If UserLogin is "nick" and Dept is different than 65000 Action -----> Same as above for the same reasons

I am new to the rules in Infopath but I thought that you could have multiple rules. In this case, I want the form to be universal and apply a given rule based on UserLogin.

I had to disable Rule 2 and Rule 1 worked as intended.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

I do not understand why you need 2 rules if you have a common processing for both conditions.
    Just make compound condition

And if you even create them separately then under the hood they will be combined into one.
So, if you have an error in 2nd rule the 1st might also fail

I do not see any IF-clauses in Infopath rules, so guess under "IF" you imply expression for rule's "Condition:" expression

What are the  the types of rules - Formatting, Action, Validation?

How do you blank out Employee information (probably with related rules)?
