InfoPath Dev

I have an InfoPath 2010 Web form.  One of the fields, setup as Person or Group, is being set via the username() function. The user information appears in the form as expected.  When the form is submitted, the data is not appearing on the sharepoint list.  If I go back to the form and manually enter the user information into the field, the data comes over to the sharepoint list.  How can I force the data to populate without re-entering in the data.  Thanks!

People picker is one of those fields that is tricky to promote.  You could just use a text field instead, but will lose the communicator widget in the browser.  Also when you set the userName() be sure to set the AccountID field.

I am setting the AccountID field.  It's just strange that you it will not propagate unless it is typed in and the lookup verified.  Is there any sort of "commit" function which will force the information to refresh in the field so that it would propagate?

Depending on your scenario, you could force a postback.  Mark the control that sets the field to always postback in the browser forms tab.  Or if you are setting via a rule, I think there is an Update Form action that you can execute.
