    Need help with SubmitToSharePointList

Hello, I'm trying to populate a SharePoint 2007 list using an InfoPath 2007 form injected with QRules 4.2 (Which BTW is working great!). In my form, I'm pulling some data from another SP list and from a MSSQL table. The problem I have is that the date fields coming from my SP list display in YYYY-MM-DD 00:00:00 format and no matter what I do, I can't get it to display using a different format format (MM-DD-YYYY). I tried to display it as text but when I populate my output list, it comes in the same db format. The dates coming right from the SQL table are fine. Can anybody please tell me what I'm doing wrong or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Gus

Hi - so, I think you are saying that when you populate dates in your form from the SharePoint list and then submit that data back to SharePoint (using qRules), the list doesn't display the dates correctly? Can you attach a screenshot (under the Options tab in a Reply, you can add a file) to show me the issue so I understand a littel better?

In your SharePoint list, what are the data types for EMMAStart and BirthDate?

The EMMAStart field in the form comes from the source SP list, where is a Date Only data field. The Birthdate in the form comes from a MSSQL table, not from a a SP list. Does it make sense? Thanks, Gus

I was actually wondering about the data types in the final list that you are writing to with SubmitToSharePointList, not the form. Does that make sense? The bottom picture in your screenshot refers to your destination list - I'm wondering about the data types for the columns in that list.

I think is the form. Hillary. Please see attached. I have setup the EMMAStart field in the form as Date, Date and Time and and I still get the same error.

Can you please, please, pretty please tell me what the data types are in your destination list? Are they both date? Are they text?

So you know, in XML, you'll need a T between the date and the time for it to be considered a valid XML date/time value:

    yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss

In the destination list I've tried date and text with the same results, I always match the data type in both lists. Just to clarify, I'm using the IP form to read from one SP list and populate another SP list. Now where should I look to add the T en between the date and time, can you please elaborate on that? Thanks a bunch for all your help Gus

    Re: Need help with SubmitToSharePointList

When you set the value of the EMMAStartDate in your form, you could try using the translate function to replace a blank space character with T -

    translate(fieldname, " ", "T")

Your destination list data type would need to be Date for you to get a formatted value displayed.

Hillary, The translate function did not work, but that gave me the idea and I tried the substring function which did work. Thanks so much!! Gus
