InfoPath Dev

Hi, I have noticed a few posts on this site roughly about this subject, but that don't quite solve the issue. Does anyone know of a way to get the custom permissions on a SharePoint list in an InfoPath form without the workaround of creating a secondary list containing the users and their roles? Using the AD groups will also not work.

What I've done is modified the edit item web part of a list in InfoPath and now I want to disable some of the fields based on the permissions of the current user (a contributor should only be able to modify certain fields while the administrator should be able to modify all of the fields).

I have tried making use of the _vti_bin/usergroup.asmx web service and then selecting the 'GetRolesAndPermissionsForCurrentUser', however this gives me a secondary data connection with absolutely no fields.

What do you mean under custom (in "custom list permissions")?
permissions where - on server or client?
The form of which type/compatibility?

Why do you need to do this on/with/in a web part? Infopath form web part?
