    Re: Repeating table headaches

Thanks for looking into this, Hilary. Slight problem I have before anything else - I can't open the form!

Error: The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.
This form template was created by InfoPath version 14.0.0.

I have Infopath 2007, for the record. It is thus sulking in a corner and refusing to play ball.

It is saved as an IP 2007 template (I just double checked). When you download it, right click and select design from the locally saved file - is that how you tried to open it?

If you have managed to open previously the template from my computer, might be it would work again?

    Re: Repeating table headaches

*sigh* It works on the VM I'm running on the same computer but not on the computer itself. Don't you just love Technology?

I can see there's the hidden helper field with the rules on, so:

When you click the < button, the hidden helper field value is changed to "Back"

When the hidden helper field = "Back", the rules apply to roll the week data across to the left.

How does this manage to work for all the rows?

Go take a look at the logic on the helper field - since that field is inside the repeating group, the rules it runs only affect the instances of the other fields inside the same group.

     Thanks - I think I understand now. You're a star!

I cannot manage keeping me silent on this...

    I have asked Hilary:

    • "Is not it possible to restrict/filter/condition rules to current repeating node in any way?
Even if it is less proper solution (or requires editing source files) I'd like to know from learning point of view
(I expect XPath expression like  "current()/" and/or [current()]).
Well, I tried a few variants and all failed and I do not understand clearly why "

    And Hilary's answer to me:

    • "I think the issue with this particular form is that current() doesn’t really apply – the buttons are outside of the repeating group. Any rule on the button that references “current()” would probably be referring to the root (or whatever node the section the button sits in is bound to)"
