Hello,

Please help a frustrated new user to InfoPath 2010!

I've created a form which has a header and three sections. There is a drop down field called "Action" in the header which when a certain value is selected the relevant section will be shown. In these sections I want to force a date field to be populated by setting a validation rule.

I have set a simple validation rule on my date field as follows -

Condition - Action = "Leaver"

Rule Type: Validation

Screen Tip : Enter Date

When I preview my form from InfoPath or from SharePoint my date field continues to show a red dashed line around it and displays an error saying "This form contains validation errors" or "Infopath cannot submit the form because it contains errors" 

I cannot see what I'm doing wrong as it's nothing too complex.

So, your date field is showing a validation error even after you've entered a date? I think your validation would be... Action = "Leaver" and DateField is blank...

I did work it out in the end and that's the validation rule I ended up with.
