I'm working with Infopath/Sharepoint 2010. I have two External Content Types, Country and Region. I have two external item pickers on my form associated with these External Content Types. When my form loads, the Country item picker is populated with the complete set of countries from the Country ECT which is fine. Then when I select a country, the Region item picker is also populated with all the regions which is not what I want. I want only the regions within the selected country to appear.
I am trying the following:
I have created an association between the Country & Region ECTs called 'Region Country Association'. Then, within the 'Other Setting' option of the External Item Picker Properties for Region, I started to fill in some of the fields e.g. I put 'Region Country Association' in the field Association Name. And then I got stuck because I don't understand what should go in the next two fields, External Item Location, Display Field Location.
First, am I on the right track? Is it the way to populate an external item picker based on the value selected in a previous external item picker?
I know how to do cascading drop down lists but for various reason that wouldn't work well for me.
