Use Form Load to add a row to a Repeating Table

I have seen some variants of this question on some InfoPath 2007 threads, but feel sure that hidden within 2010 there is a "simple" solution!

I want to use a Repeating Table to log visits to a form by individuals named in the form, others can open the form but cannot make changes, I have resolved all the conditional formatting, workflow permissions, etc. to ensure that only approved editors can make changes.

My initial thoughts were to have a RT for each approved form editor, check the current user and if they are an approved editor record the time/date of their visit in their RT. If they add a comment in the appropriate box the time/date is added to another RT - each approved editor has two RTs, one for View Date and one for Review Date. This will provide an audit trail for each approved editor accessing and updating the form.

I thought that adding a row to each RT during Form Load would be a start, as any row not filled will be removed when the form is submitted, but there does not seem to be a simple function to add a row!

Doubtless this will mean some code behind based on a change event (or still possibly Form Load?), but what code and where to put it (with a straight face)??

    Hi-

    Yes, code would be required...

....or qRules, which has the Insert command (and many others). You can learn more about qRules here.
