form in a library cant query its own library?

    hi all,

i have a requisition form that gets the ID of the library item to set as part of the filename.  when submitting, it queries for the highest ID number, adds 1 to it, then uses that value to set the file name of the submit connection to the library.

when filling out the form, and hitting submit it errors out saying that the list cannot be found.  what?  it's in its own library...how can the list (library) it came from not be found?

DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The form cannot run the specified query. The list could not be found.

this makes no sense to me.  i converted the receive connection to a data connection file, and it works now, but i want to know why i dont have to do this in a different form library.

    any ideas are appreciated.

What version of SharePoint is this? What version of InfoPath?

I can try for a repro based on those two additional pieces of information. Thanks.

    2010 all around.

i did notice one thing...we have an alias in our sp site of http://roundup.xxx.local that some people go to and another alias people can get to sharepoint via the actual host name of http://xxx-svr1.xxx.local

would this possiblly cause this issue?

Yes, certainly this could cause an issue. If the user accesses the site via one URL and the data connection uses the other URL, I believe the query will fail.

The query must use the same URL where the form was opened from.
