    People picker data connection

Can you use a people picker with a database connection?  I just want to use it a seperate field then reference it back using the diplay name in the SQL table field.  Thanks.

The People Picker looks up its data from SharePoint only.

    Re: People picker data connection

Sorry, let me rephrase it.  When i create a database template, I want to add a people picker field to the form.  It won't let me add one.  I know the SQL tables can't handle the people picker because it stores it in three ways.  I would like to have it seperate adn just reference it back.

This is what the error says: Person/Group Picker cannot be bound to the selected field or group.  This comes up for any field I'm inserting.  What I can do is add the datafield seperate adn just copy and past the textbox/dropdownlist/etc. and sync them together.  When I do the people picker it won't copy over.

     Thanks for your help.

Database templates have their schema created to match the database. The schema is locked, so you can't add/remove controls as desired. This would include the Person/Group Picker.

If you need a more customizable template, start with a blank form (not a database form) and use a web service to read/write from the database.
