We're on SharePoint 2010 and I have a major Browser form that I recently published to a Site Content Type. After doing so, I discovered a text field on my form "Assigned To" was not updating with the entered value when the form was submitted. I realized that "Assigned To" might be a reserved site field and that the name probably couldn't be used. So, I renamed my field to "Assigned-TO". Problem solved.
NEW PROBLEM: I now have these two fields in my document library. "Assigned To" and "Assigned-TO". I removed the "Assigned To" field from the promoted field listing and re-published. The form no longer references "Assigned To" anywhere. SharePoint is still hanging onto that field. I can not delete it from the form library settings or the content type settings. Any ideas how I can make it go away?
