I'm very new to working with InfoPath 2007 and I've run into some difficulty. I am building a self contained form for users to submit change requests and have had problems with conditional formatting that I'm hoping you can help me solve. No matter what, the solution needs to be OOB due to corporate policy. Here's the functionality I'm trying to build:
Upon opening the form the user is presented with six options in a drop down list:
1. Add New Category
2. Modify Existing Category
3. Delete Existing Category
4. Add New Subcategory
5. Modify Existing Subcategory
6. Delete Existing Subcategory
Depending on the selection they make, there are fields that are required for the form to be successfully submitted. I've built each of those fields into the form in its own section. What I'd like to do is have the fields that are required for each selection above automatically appear when the user selects them.
Here's the problem I've run into: Some of the fields need to appear for multiple user selections (i.e. some of the same fields are required for both adding a new category and modifying and existing one) but I can't get the conditional formatting to work past one selection. The setup I've been using that doesn't work is:
If the field "CategoryChangeType" is not equal to "Add New Category" or field "CategoryChangeType" is not equal to "Modify Existing Category" hide this control.
When I use that configuration the section doesn't appear for either user selection. What am I missing here? Is there any way to get the functionality I need OOB? Your help is greatly appreciated!
