InfoPath Dev

I have used this number of times but this time I hit a complete roadblock. Here is the issue:

Environment: Infopath 2010 browser based form, SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise, latest patches applied

Issue: I am just using http://<server_name>/vti_bin/userprofileservice.asmx to use GetUserProfileByName. This is to retrieve user's profile info in my browser enabled infopath 2010 form. It was working fine until few days back it stopped working. Error is:

An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server. Log ID:5566

Now, the first suspect is the permissions that is running this webservice and the permissions checked out fine. This service account has full control. Not sure what seems to be the issue. I have also checked user profile service under Manage Service Applications and it is working just fine. 

Anyone has any suggestion on what is missing here?

 I have resolved my own issue.

 Can you share what your resolution to this was? I have a browser enabled form with the userprofileservice converted to UDC file and it is not getting data back on any users ----has 401 double hop issue. Trying not to use code-behind.
