Creating relationship when submitting to multiple lists

I have created two lists - Projects and Project Task Projects: Title Description Consultant County Route Project Tasks: Title Project (Look-up to Project List, Title Column) Comments In my mapping file, I have mapped all of the fields, and created a manual mapping from the Project Task List (Project column) to the Project List (../../my:ProjectName). When I try to submit the form, the relationship between the Project Task, and the Project are not being created. Is there a way to accomplish this, or does the Project have to exist before the relationship can be created? Thanks, Jason

     Hi Jason-

Yes, the parent (Projects) needs to exist in order for the children (Project tasks) to exist.

First thing: I would add the Error node to the canvas, to make sure that you see any errors while developing the form.

It might be that the Projects (the first list submit) is failing for some reason. With qRules v4.2, you can configure the command to submit only to one of the lists, and I think that might be a good way to troubleshoot.

You can add the /mappingName parameter to your command, i.e. /mappingName="Project"

This tells qRules to map only to the Project list. If this works, then try /mappingName="ProjectTask" and see if that works as well.

As you do this, look at the Error node for any messages.

Let us know how that goes. Thanks!

Hi - can you tell me what this means:

    jasonwhitestl:
the relationship between the Project Task, and the Project are not being created

Are your Projects and ProjectTasks being created in the lists? At first glance, your mapping looks correct.

Hi Hilary, The items in the Project list are being created, but the items in the Project Task list are not being created. If I removed the mapping ../../my:ProjectName from the mapping file, items will be created in both lists. the error that I am getting is "The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result Code: 0x80020005)"

Is the Project column a lookup in Project Tasks? If so, map ProjectId instead of ProjectName....
