Hello, I'm writing for help on a problem I've run across when submitting a form created with InfoPath 2007.
I am using rules on the submit button in order to refresh a secondary data source and check to make sure a user entered value is unique before submitting. If the value is unique, the form submits, and that part works fine. The problem comes up if the value is not unique. The rules catch the problem, and the error dialog box pops up like it should, but even though I have the "Stop processing rules when this rule finishes" checkbox checked on the dialog box rule, the "You have successfully submitted the form" message comes up after the error message. The form does not actually submit, despite the message, but I don't want to confuse the users with the successful submit message.
Here is a summary of the rules the submit button runs through:
Always - Query using a data connection: SharePoint Library
Always - Compare value of TICN textbox to refreshed values
If TICN is not unique - Show dialog box message: Error; Stop processing rules when this rule finishes
If TCIN is unique - Submit to Sharepoint Library
I think this may be happening because there wasn't an actual error thrown, just my dialog box with the error message, so it did successfully run through the rules, it just didn't actually submit. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a way to disable the success message through rules, or maybe link the success and failure messages to the submit rule and not the others. Unfortunately, I can not use code with InfoPath due to a security issue, so any solutions through added code can not be implemented.
Thank you for your help.
