Hi there, I'm stumped on the following in infopath 2010. I'm trying to convert a rich text field into a regular text field. When I right click the rich text field and select change control, the only options I are "calculated value" and "section". Any ideas on how how I can change this to a normal text field. Thank you.

 Rich Text Box is control or visual representation for underlying data field of data type Rich Text (XHTML)

 It is, obviously, cannot be rendered in TextBox control that is to render data field of dat type string.   

First, before anything else, you should decide which field of which type you need and then choose how it will be visually rendered but not vice versa

Is this a template for which forms have already been filled out?  If so, I wouldn't recommend changing your rich text field to regular text because that would most likely cause problems with opening the existing data.

 If you do have existing forms and objective is to get rid of the rich text and use ordinary text instead, I would recommend just creating an entirely new field for the ordinary text and either removing the rich text box or making it read only (but don't delete the rich text box's field from the data source).
