replacing default infopath form in sharepoint

Hi there, I've designed an infopath form on my computer. I want to replace the default form on a sharepoint list with this new form. I can't see a way of uploading this form and replacing the existing default form. Could anyone please tell me how to do this. Thank you.

    Hi,

The process to accomplish this is:

    1. Create your SharePoint list

    2. On the list itself, click the icon for Customize form. The form will open in Design mode.

    3. Customize and modify the form as desired, then File > Save and File > Publish. This will republish it to the SharePoint list.

    Good luck!

Hi Ernestom, I created a blank form from within infopath and I'm trying to upload this form into the list. I could customize a new form from within the list but I'll lose all the work I made on my previous form. There has to be a way to do this! Thank you

If you created a blank, new form in InfoPath Designer, you can publish it to a SharePoint form library.

For a list, you would need to make sure that the form is created based on the list. That's either done by clicking Customize form on the list, or by creating the form from the list (screenshot attached).

Thanks ErnestoM, that was perfect!! any ideas why field names in section properties would be greyed out? This was the reason I wanted to create a blank form so I could test if i could rename sections. Thank you.

There are some limitations to SharePoint List forms, so I imagine you ran into some of those limitations and then switched to a blank, new template. Notice for example, the locked schema of the SharePoint List forms.
