Morning,
Okay, here's the setup... we're using IP 2010 and MOSS 2007. Our users need to be able to assign requests that come in to different people on different teams who then are notified of the assignment. We set this up by creating a sharepoint list where people are assigned to groups/teams. The names are grabbed by the person or group field in sharepoint so we can use the email in the active directory.
Everything works fine using filters on different dropdowns to get the correct list of names BUT an extra comma is added to the names (e.g. LastName,, FirstName). This then causes a problem because sharepoint/active directory can't find the user's email to send the notification.
Because we couldn't figure out what was happening to add the double comma, we created a workflow that goes to those fields on submission and finds the double comma and replaces with a single comma. It technically works, but the timing is causing problems due to the various times names are added. I've been playing with how to get the timing to work, but am wondering if finding a solution to the initial double comma issue would be more adventageous.
Has anyone out there run into this issue and found a solution? Or just have thoughts on where I could start looking to resolve the problem? The sharepoint list shows the names with just one comma, so there's something happening when the data is pulled into IP.
Thanks!
Jen
