Looking at infopath to solve a problem

I have a project to take a contract that is currently done as a word mail merge per employee and 1. change it to a to a web form 2. When the user views it they click on except and it updates the except field in the data base ( so far easy ) 3. When they click it also saves their contract with their except to a pdf or tif where our document system can pick it up thanks for the help

    Hi there,

Not sure what specifically you are asking help for.  InfoPath can do all of what you mentioned above.  1 is pretty straight forward, but will require you to make the form from scratch likely.  2 you can connect to a database through data connections. 3 will require some custom code as InfoPath cannot do this out of the box, but is definitely possible.  There may be some third party tools that will let you do this as well.

Sure no problem.  I've seen it done before, though not myself personally.  All I know is that it does require some custom code to do it.  If you do a quick search I'm sure something will come up :)
