Sharepoint Infopath form and Save and Update button not working right

    Hello there,

I have an Infopath form for a Sharepoint document library that has multiple views but the View combobox doesn't work right after if I click the "Save and Update" yellow form banner.

Infopath seems to think I don't have the latest form in my cache (but I do) so it tries to download the form everytime (download form progress dialog pops up for a couple seconds) and then yellow "Save and Update" banner pops up. But the View dropdown in Infopath shows the options to select but when anything is selected the view doesn't change. I can enter data into the form however but the View dropdown is a key part of form so I need to get this working.

If I clear the infopath cache with infopath /cache clearall or deleting the cache contents at %userprofile%\APPDATA\Local\Microsoft\InfoPath\FormCache3 it works as expected the first time Infopath loads with no glitches but the very next time the "Save and Update" dialog continues to pop up again. Clicking 'x' to close that banner makes verything works as expected but I don't want to have to have users clear the cache each time with these extra steps.

Any ideas on why Sharepoint/Infopath is getting confused? Thanks!

Can you check the form template name and its version? From InfoPath Designer, go to File > Form Template Properties - you'll see the name. Try changing it to something unique. It should be the same as doing Save As and giving it another name.

You can check the version under File > Form Options > Versioning. Try increasing the version number, for example from 1.x.x.x, make it 2.x.x.x (where x can be any number). When done, clear your InfoPath cache and try again.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Mel,

Thanks, I tried both of these suggestions but it made no difference. I still get the same behavior. Any other ideas?
