    Extra Spaces Between Optional Sections

I have created many Infopath forms with multiple optional sections on them. Each section is directly below the previous one, yet when I preview the form or fill it out and print it, I get extra spaces between some of the sections. This didn't start happening until recently, and I can't figure out what is causing it. I have tried everything I can thing of to get rid of the extra spaces, but to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi, Slcuster,

Have you tried to set to 0 (zero) all of the margins and padding in the section properties?

Oh, one more thing. There is a default border on all inserted sections. You probably want to remove this border.

    To remove the border:
1.In design mode, right-click the table, control, or object from which you want to remove a border, and then click Borders and Shading on the shortcut menu.
    2. In the Borders and Shading dialog box, click the Borders tab.
    3. Under Presets, click None.

    Stephanie,

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried them all, but it didn't fix the problem. I picked one of my smaller forms, made the changes you suggested to all of the optional sections on the form, then clicked the Preview Form button. As before, some sections were directly above/below each other while others were separated by several spaces. Weird, huh?

Weird. Okay, let me try it out on my form to see if I will result the same issue you have. Are they all optional sections?

    Yes, they're all optional.

    Hi Slcuster,

I have created three optional sections and all my optional sections are directly above/below each other. Have you removed all the white spaces within the optional section?

    Stephanie,

Yes, I did remove all the white spaces within the optional sections. As I said previously, some sections were directly above/below each other while others were separated by several spaces, so this is really most noticeable when you have a lot of sections. Most of my forms have 20 - 30 optional sections. Thanks for trying this out. I appreciate your help.

Re: Extra Spaces Between Optional Sections

I finally stumbled onto the solution to my problem, though I still don't know what caused it. If I go to the bottom of my repeating section and click Delete, my extra spaces disappear in Preview mode. The strange thing is that when I click Delete, nothing changes in Design view because nothing is there to delete. The fact that these forms used to lack the extra spaces and I have done nothing to them since then, and the fact that all of my 50 plus forms now have this new problem reinforces my belief that I did not cause this to appen. I wonder if the latest updates could have something to do with this? Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. If anyone figures out what causes this problem, please let me know. Thanks again.
