InfoPath Dev

I'm new to InfoPath and VBScript. I'm trying to open a .xsn file residing on the desktop using a vbscript. I've used Set ipApp = CreateObject("InfoPath.Application") then Call ipApp.XDocuments.Open(myfile) but those return an error about the file not being a valid XML file. (myfile is declared earlier in the script) Am I missing something? Any help appreciated.

 Is it Infopath 2003?

AFAIU, VBScript is not used in 2007 and 2010?

The.xsn file is archive of (I believe XML) files, it is for XML files describing Infopath form template

Then, I do not grasp - are you trying to open XSN template from itself? or from where? in which context?

For opening XSNs, I think you should use NewFromSolution(), not Open():

Yes its 2003, I'm writing a VBScript which will open a .xsn I was given.

I used IE to open the file which prompts me to open the file with Infopath. WshShell.Run "%comspec% /c Start iexplore " & localfile, 0, 1

Did you try my suggestion?  That might save users from having to go through the extra prompt.

I did try your method, it prompted me an error saying that method wasn't supported. Thanks though.
