    Viewing Form Without InfoPath

    What happens when a user without InfoPath tries to open a form from a SharePoint Form Library?

    Hi dlgross,

    U need to have InfoPath installed in the client machine to open the form from that machine and make use of the dynamic and rich UI.

    Regards,

    Here is a thread that has the information that you are looking for. Scroll down to
    "How can a user that does not have InfoPath installed view a Form saved in a
    SharePoint Team Services Form Library?"

    http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread38702.html

    You can also export the form to MHT and post that to SharePoint. InfoPath also has a level 3 security (i.e. Full Trust) method that will =
    allow you to do this when the user clicks submit or save.

    XDocument.View.Export("http://MySharePoint/MyFolder/MyView", "MHT");

    You can also install our Forms Viewer free evaluation. Office Forms Server 2007 is going to be the high end solution due out later this year.

    Thanks for the information, I guess what I'd really like to know is how to provide the user the appropriate instructions when they don't have IP installed e.g., have a message box pop up telling them what to do. Is something like this possible from a SharePoint forms library?

    Re: Viewing Form Without InfoPath

    Hi dlgross,

    ... just as an additional information...

    There´s a way to show the infopath forms in a web part of sharepoint itself. This web part allowing users without InfoPath to view [not edit] the contents of forms on their web browser.

    For further information please have a look here:

    I haven´t any experience with this --- therefore don´t ask me for details... ;-))
