    SharePoint Submit Fails

    Hello,

I've successfully mapped my form in DBXL and have submitted a few test samples from DAT. Now I've enabled the SharePoint integration and am running into an issue. Although when I submt my form from within DAT the form submits fine and shows up in SharePoint, when I try to submit from a client via SharePoint & InfoPath I get an error. Here is the error I'm seeing:

And here are the SharePoint settings:

Thanks for any guidance you can provide,

    Ken

    Hi Ken-

I don't remember seeing this before. Do you have access to the server where DBXL is installed? If so, please check the event viewer. Within it, there is a log for Qdabra. I'd be interested to know whether an error shows up at the time of the failed submit. If there is no error under Qdabra, check Application.

Let us know what you find. Thanks.

    Hi Ernesto,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I checked the event viewer and there are no entries in either the Qdabra log or the Application log. Interestingly, I got something slightly different when I tried the submit from a different computer. Here's a screenshot:

    Any suggestions on this?

    Thanks again,
    Ken

    Re: SharePoint Submit Fails

    Hi Ken,

Is DBXL installed on the SharePoint - 80 site? I would guess yes if the SharePoint mapping with Object Model saved successfully.

I would check whether all your machines/users belong to the same domain, and whether they have added the server that hosts DBXL to their Internet Explorer's Local Intranet sites.

Let us know what you find. Thanks.

    Re: SharePoint Submit Fails

    Thanks again Ernesto...

I've reached out to the individual that installed DBXL and will try to confirm the settings with him. As you point out, the SharePoint mapping with Object Model saved successfully and forms submitted via DAT work fine and show up on the SharePoint site.

I just tested a submit from the server itself and see this error, perhaps this provides a clue:

    ----------
    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Exception: Exception Code: I0001
Exception Message: No DocumentType found for ''.

       at Qdabra.Dbxl.DbxlDocumentServiceEx.CheckAndThrowException(StatusInfo info)
at Qdabra.Dbxl.DbxlDocumentServiceEx.Qdabra.Dbxl.Services.IDbxlDocumentServiceEx.SubmitDocument(String docTypeName, String xml, String name, String author, String description, String allowOverwrite, Int32& docId, String& refId)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

    ----------

    Any ideas on this error?

    Thanks, Ken

    Re: SharePoint Submit Fails

    Wow, interesting.

Usually, when we create a mapping between DBXL and SharePoint (with Object Model selected, and Publish Library and XSN checked), DBXL is able to automatically determine the name of the Document Type. The error:

    No DocumentType found for ''

...suggests that DBXL fails to determine which document type the form (being submitted) belongs to.

I guess I would check the submit data connection in the XSN itself, but again, since it's submitting fine from DAT, this tells me the submit data connection is probably correct. I could check the form if you want - just attach it to this discussion via the Options tab.

Otherwise, I would suspect a network issue, where perhaps the DBXL and SharePoint - 80 app pools are not running under the same identity.

Keep us posted - if you need to escalate and/or set up a help session next week, email us via support at qdabra dot com.

Okay, interesting... at least we're maybe moving closer to a solution. I'm attaching the form to this discussion. Based on what you find, I may need to escalate this and set up a session.

    Thanks so much,
    Ken

Oh! The form has code (for the taskpane, I think).

I'm thinking this document might help:

    Re: SharePoint Submit Fails

My apologies Ernesto. I have never considered a Task Pane to be custom code, so it just never occurred to me that that was a factor here. I've removed the custom task pane for now and can submit successfully from the server. I am, however, back to my original issue in which I cannot submit from computers other than the server. As I said, I have reached out to the person who set this up and will hopefully hear back from him soon.

Thanks for all your help and patience,
    Ken
