    Multiple signatures on a form

Getting a bit muddled with difital signatures here.
What I'm trying to do is to have 2 different people sign a form at different times.

    So....

Applicant fills out form and signs and submits
Manager opens form, switches to their view, approves, signs and saves.
However when they try to add data they get the message that the form has been signed and cannot be edited.
I thought I selected the option to have signing for parts of the form. I have a group called application and have set that as signable, I have another group (the other view) called executive which is also set to signable.

I've done many forms that require multiple signatories and approvers, some sequential and some possibly concurrent. I do not use the digital signing function and I think it's easier to create your own version within the form. Would you consider doing that? I could probably dig out a generic example if you'd like.
