Non browser-enabled form keeps trying to open in browser

I have an infopath form template uploaded to a sharepoint library and until a few minutes ago, i could click the xsn url or the New drop down in the library and the form would open up with no problem.  Now all of a sudden, it is trying to open in the browser, but it only seems to be affecting me.  All other users can access the form with no problem from the .xsn url.  I've tried clearing temp files, history, cookies, rebooting, and even republishing the form.  I've opened this form many times today and it's weird that all of a sudden, it's not working.  Any ideas?

The library is set to open in filler? Nothing needing repair in your InfoPath installation?

I'm not sure what you mean by "the library is set to open in filler?"  I am using Infopath and SharePoint 2007.  Until a couple of hours ago, I could click the New Document item from the menu or use the direct .xsn url to open a new form.  http://sharepoint.servername.com/sites/team_site/newsite/Maitenance Request/Forms/template.xsn  to open the form in the in the client application.  Now, for some reason, the xsn url is resolving to a long address.  (see below)

    http://sharepoint.servername.com/sites/team_site/newsite/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http://sharepoint.servername.com/sites/team_site/newsite/Maintenance Requests/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Eservername%2Ecom%2Fsites%2team_site%2Fnewsite%2F%20Maintenance%20Requests&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2EservernameF%2Ecom%2Fsites%2Fteam_site%2Fnewsite%2FMaintenance%2520Requests%2FForms%2FMyItems%2Easpx&DefaultItemOpen=1

This long address occurs when I try to access previously published forms via their direct xsn urls as well but other users can open them without a problem.

If you go to your form library settings, there is a setting under advanced settings for opening in the browser or the client.

I think you are saying that if you enter the direct URL in the browser on your machine, it is changed to the browser URL (the long address you mention).

It is almost as if the form thinks you don't have InfoPath installed - which is why I asked about repairing Office.

I do have InfoPath installed, so I expect the form to open in the software instead of the browser.  There is no reason for the redirect which is what's baffling me.  Usually when I use the .xsn URL, it automatically opens the Infopath software.  Everyone in our organization has Infopath which is why the form is not browser enabled.  So you think the solution might be to repair the installation on my machine?  It makes sense, since so far, I am the only person experiencing the problem.

Well, it is baffling. I guess what I'm wondering is if it is a machine issue or a form issue. It seems to be machine, right? Since only you are having the issue. But what if the problem is with the latest template, and the other users have the template cached....? You may want to try removing the template from the cache on another machine to see if that machine then has the same issue.

The Microsoft Office repair resolved the issue.  I did clear temp files on several other machines and tested the access to ensure the problem wasn't wide spreading.  Thankfully, it was just local.  Thanks for the help!

Oh, wonderful, glad you got it resolved.

I always try to narrow the issue down to form, machine or user - generally it seems to be one of those categories. From there you can start figuring out the issue, but until I do that I find myself just sort of thrashing about, which isn't terribly efficient. :-)

Let me understand what I have underunmisunderstood: clearing cahe on other client machines to resolve a problem on a client machine?

I feel me stupid. How does this work?

Clearing the cache is part of the troubleshooting steps.  I cleared the cache on my machine in addition to restarts, and was still unable to open the form.  To ensure the issue was not with the template, I cleared the cache and restarted several other machines and tried to access the form.  The form opened without issue on all other machines.  This suggested the problem was with the software and not the published template.  I ran a Microsoft Office repair on my machine and rebooted.  Problem resolved.

Thanks for clarifications. I understood from your descriptions that clearing the cache was unrelated to the problem
