Why is my sharepoint displaying data different to the form submission?

    Hello All

I'm relatively new to InfoPath and SharePoint, so apologies in advance for any ignorance coming this way...

I've created a SharePoint list for vehicles, vehicle makes, and service requirements (as per the make). I've managed to link the form which updates the list to two existing sharepoint lists with reg numbers, vehicle makes and service requirements; so that if you select i.e. Ford, the next drop down list will only show you Focus, Mondeo, Fiesta, etc, and the Service requirements will only show Ford service requirements, which I'm please to say is working fine (on the form).

When you submit this form to the list, the entry on the form shows Vauxhall, and doesn't show any reg number at all. You open up the record to edit, and on that form all the data is showing correct, but the SharePoint list isn't!?

    Any ideas?

    Sammy.

I'm just guessing, but it could be that the dropdowns are configured to use a value different than the displayName. Dropdowns display the displayName but don't store it, so the value shown in the dropdown is not necessarily the value being stored in XML. To check this, right click on your dropdowns and select Properties.
