I think what you are looking for is the embeded picture control.  Insert your picture control and select Included in the form.  The difference is that now the control will attach the picture to the form and it will display the image for you as well.  Hope this helps!

Re: help needed to display uploaded image in a form

Yeah it is do able in Infopath blank form and infopath sharepoint library. I am trying to figure a work around for Infopath Sharepoint List. Picture control in Infopath Sharepoint List only let user to upload file as a link. I did found a way to embed image to the form in sharepoint list. I created attachment and picture control together. after you publish it, upload any picture in attachment control then save the form. after save the form, edit the form again. now, you will see the attachment that you upload will be shown as a link. double click on the link and you will be directed to the image url. now use the image url to upload using picture control in the same form. An embed picture will be display. I am trying to figure out to find another work around which work more effectively. Any ideas?

I think the best way to do this is to upload the picture separately to a picture library then using the link to the picture in a picture control.  You can attach the file, but will have problems saving it.  And I believe the image in the rich text also requires a link.
