    Compatibility-Form in Office 2003 and Office 2007

    Hi friends,

I have developed an Infopath form using InfoPath 2003 that uses managed code.
Now if I install Office 2007(Beta) in a machine and try to access the same Infopath form(one developed in 2003 version)from this machine, will the form function properly?
Or do I need to take any measures to ensure that the form developed in InfoPath 2003 can be accessed in a machine where Infopath 2007 is installed.

    regards,
    Abhishek

As a general rule the Office 2007 has ensured backward compatibility -because of the new file formats for excel and word this was an important issue.
I havent tried using trusted forms on my setup though, but cant see any reason why it shouldnt work, as long as you have the correct framework version installed.
It shouldnt be too hard to test though: just create a Office 2007 install (theres a new build out btw) on a virtual pc or spare server and register the form there :-)

    Hi friends,
I have implemented a project successfully using InfoPath 2003 and Visual Studio 2003(.NET Framework 1.x)

I made the form Full Trust using the RegForm tool and have installed the form in all the machines having InfoPath 2003 and Visual Studio 2003 successfully.

But when I try to install the form in a machine that has InfoPath 2007 and Visual Studio 2005,
    I get the following error

    Cannot find InfoPath.ExternalApplication.Error code=0x800401f3

I know that RegisterSolution method of the InfoPath ExternalApplication object is used to install the fully trusted form.

So how do I solve the problem?

    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
This is weird and looks like you have a bad installation. It's not finding the ProgID. Did you install the Full Trust form before or after you installed InfoPath 2007? What version of InfoPath 2007 are you using - beta1 or the technical refresh?

Hi. I have a project out that is using Visual Studio. When I open that project up, InfoPath 2003 comes up instead of 2007. ??? is there some add on that I need yet? I just installed the 2007 Beta version today.
