    Webparts connection

    hey everybody,

I'm not able to connect 2 webparts on the same page (InfoPath webparts)

in the browser I get an "no consumer schema" message.

in SharePoint Designer no webpart's columns appear to choose from !

I already red posts about this problem but nothing really helped :\

and also I do not have Filter webparts in my SharePoint site.

    I'm lost please help :\

Both connecting Webparts cannot be Infopath in list(s) scenarios, at least OOTB

If you want to connect Infopath web parts with underlying(in "List or Library:"  of Infopath Web Part Properties) list at least in one (IMO, this automatically conditions the counter-part to be based on the superset/subset of the same list in its schema), then, it is IMO (p.o.v),  it is impossible.
    At least, OOTB (out-of-the-box)

This area is a trap and you would understand why taking into account:

    1) Infopath Form Web Part permits only one connection

    2) as soon as one defines in one of webpart properties the source  as list  (in "List or Library:"  of Infopath Web Part Properties) , the only option available for connecting them
(it is symmetric and one webpart's connection reflects another automatically), is:

      •  Get Data From (for one) / Send Data (for another)
      • no options for Get Form From/ Send Form To
    3) But this doesn't make sense since:
      • Infopath Web Part are always in Edit mode, and there is no choice to change it (well, one can hack it with heavy coding but there are other blocking traps)
With the only possible connection taken, the source form will always be on the same item captured
One can change then the same item untill the end of his life
      • Another infopath form will never receive even this castrated choice because Infopath web part LIST connections, unlike library forms connections,  do not have the choice of promoting fields
Don't ask me why - I am not from the Microsoft

So, in LIST case,  one (counterpart) web part should be non-Infopath.
And even in this case the only technical possibility and logical sense is restricted to basing non-Infopath webpart to a list and connecting Infopath web part from to non-IIP list web part through "Get Form From" to get item's list in edit mode in Infopath Web Part!

Correct me where I am wrong

Ohhh that sounds really heavy ! thanks both for replying, but after all you said I don't see webparts connections (as the way they are OOTB) useful ! but thanks anyway :)

    Hello, Hala777 and RocksAndMountains,

    thanks for your feedback.

Let me repeat/stress here once more that my objective is not dumping (Microsoft or any other vendor) products but find  the most efficient, time-saving and painless ways/techniques of using them (in case of such problems with Infopath forms - workarounds)

I am spending my time for responding this and other threads in hope that anybody responds where I am wrong as well as share their tricks and tips
