    Count Repeating Table

My question is fairly similar to this question (http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/6773/24839.aspx) regarding values in a repeating table. Unless someone needs the additional information I won't delve into exactly how my form is operating. Basically I am trying to count values in a column of a repeating table that satisfy a requirement. The previous question wanted to count the distinct values in Smith, Bird, Smith, Walker. I would like to be able to count the amount of times Smith occurs in a column. I would essentially be doing the CountIf function in excel. Thanks!

This is the current XPath of the rule if it helps anyone:
    count(../../my:repeatingGroup/my:repeatingTable/my:uomRepeatingTable)

So, is the above XPath getting you the correct count of all rows? If so, you can just add a filter:

    count(../../my:repeatingGroup/my:repeatingTable/my:uomRepeatingTable[my:ColumName = 'Smith'])

But instead of ColumnName above, you'd use the actual name of the field that would contain "Smith".

Hi Shep123, Did you find any solution for this issue?

samdany10, I did this a ways back so I don't really recall the situation. But I'm pretty sure Hilary's answer was what I added. I think I thought I had applied to the filter when I clearly hadn't. Hope that helps.
