I have a form that will have 5 different statuses:
Pending User 1
Pending User 2
Pending User 3
Approved or Declined
User 1 initiates form.
User 2 fills out their part, submits to User 3.
User 3 fills out their part, submits to next User - next user 1 or 2 is decided automatically depending on what User 3 enters into the form.
After that, it's going to bounce back and forth between the 3 users depending on information entered into the form by each user. It can go back and forth as many times necessary until User 3 decides to finally give their "final" approval or decline. I'm using buttons on each view with multiple rules (email notifications, populating status fields, date submitted=today, etc.), not SP Designer workflows.
My issue is, management wants to be able to measure the time that the form spends "pending" each user. If it was a simple "User 1 to User 2 to User 3 then Approve" workflow, I could just record a "today" date when each submit button is clicked. Then export my data to a spreadsheet and formulate the business days between and total them up by User. But using this method when the form starts pinballing back and forth between users, the "today" date is overwritten each time they push submit.
Is there an easier way to record my multiple dates that I can then export to give them reports?
Or even an easier way in SharePoint Designer that will allow me to export this data to run these reports?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice!
