How do I use .5 cents?

Hey guys, I have a Infopath 2007 expense report form that allows a user to select mileage from a drop down, the next field is the amount of miles driven, that gets totaled into another field. Up until recently the rate was set to 0.51 cents now the rate has changed and it needs to be set to 55.5 cents..but when I change the number to 55.5 it looks at it as $55.50 how can I make infopath read it as 55.5 cents? Confused? :) Sorry if I am not explaining this well.

    Thanks

If you were using 0.51 as the rate before you should use 0.555 instead of 55.5.  If you had the rate as a multiplier for the number of miles you must have been using 0.51 otherwise it would have been interpreted as 51 dollars.

    Hey,

Yes you are correct I was using 0.51 and I have tried to use 0.555 but Infopath keeps rounding it up to 0.56...is there a way to stop it from rounding up?

     Thanks

In the properties for the field make sure the data type is decimal (double) instead of integer.  Click the format button next to the data type and you can force the number of decimal points.
