repeating section fill with secondary data source

    Hi,

I will try to be as clear as possible.

I have a FORM1 with a text field and a repeating section. This form is publish to a sharepoint list library.

I have a FORM2 with a drop-down list and a repeating section. I configure a secondary data source which is the sharepoint form library. The secondary data connection is configure to retrieve data every time the form is opened.
The drop-down list of FORM2 is populate with the sharepoint list library. When I choose one entry in the list, i can see only one entry of form1 in the repeating section. I have put a rule in the drop down list in order to retrieve data from the secondary data source.

Someone have a idea of how i can populate my repeating section with multiple value of the secondary data source ?

    thanks

Hi Arnaud and welcome to our forum!
Thank you for the amazingly clear and concise posting! Your English is immaculate. I assume you meant SharePoint form library instead of SharePoint list library. What is your rule doing? Will the forms in the SharePoint form library have duplicate values? I'm assuming that is the case so that you can see more than one form that matches in the repeating section, but it may be that you need to do a string compare or something. The other thing to look for is the item max limit of 100 in SharePoint. Make sure this is not causing forms to be missing (go to Modify Settings and Columns, click on default view, scroll down and check the item limit).

Re: repeating section fill with secondary data source

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your answer and your compliment about my english ( i'm french :) )
Your right, it's SharePoint form library instead of SharePoint list library.
I thinks it's a conception problem of my form. I try to explain me :
The publish of FORM1 is made in a SharePoint form library and i don't know how Sharepoint manage repeating section in the SharePoint form library. For example, in FORM1 i have a repeating section name "releasenote" with inside a text fiel name release_notes. I put 3 items (tutu, toto, tata). After publishing i see in the SharePoint form library one entry with a field called releasenote with "3" and a field called release_notes with "tutu".
So i wonder where are store "toto" and "tata", may be it's not possible that why I see in FORM2 only one entry with "tutu".

Is there a way to get all the entry of the repeating section in the
    form library ?

    regards

    arnaud

Re: repeating section fill with secondary data source

    Hi,

    Finally I change my mind.
I won't use anymore repeating section. I decide to use rich text box and I will add bullet inside to separate different elements.

Now I have a new problem with this. In my FORM1 I fill my rich text box with break line, bullet etc...
When the form is published in my SharePoint form library all the HTML code disappear (<br>, etc...) So in my FORM2 when I try to get information from FORM1 (secondary data connection which is a SharePoint form library) I loose all my formatting.

Do you have an idea how to do?

    Thanks

    Arnaud
