    Failed to extract template files

I am attempting to use Qrule 4.1 trial for the 1st time and getting frustrated. When i browse to an InfoPath form, i get an Error Getting solution version immediately. I click ok, then choose InfoPath 2010, Rich Client, click Inject and then i get "An error occured during the injection". with Failed to extract template files:
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules Library (Trial Version)\CabLib64.dll.delayload' is denied.

I have seen the demos videos and i really want to get this to work so that i can get my boss to buy this powerful tool, but i'm stuck.

    TIA for any assistance

    Dean

Following up- i just watched another of the videos and learned that i could start the injector directly from the folder. i did this using Run as Admin, and the above errors were eliminated. I had run the setup.exe using Run asAdmin and used the QRules Injector link on the recenlty used programs section of the start menu but for some reason that did not work. It works when i navigate to the start-programs>qdabra>tools>qrules(trial)>qrules injector

    Hi Dean,

This is an issue that seems to occur only on 64-bit Windows systems and we're still tracking down what the exact cause is.  As you've found, once you've gone through the process of navigating to the folder, starting the program as Admin and using it once, it should be fine to start the program normally from the Start menu after that.

Re: Failed to extract template files

    Hi All,

Having the same problems with qRules 4.3 (trial)

    Environment: SP2010 Enterprise, Infopath 2010-64 bit, Windows 7 - 64 bit.

    1.      A) When qDabra Rules Injector is started it first gives  the following error: “Error getting solution version”.

    B) Skipping the error dialog screen and attempting to use it on any closed and XSN file, produces another error: “Failed to extract template files: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules Library (Trial Version)\CabLib64.dll.delayload' is denied.” There is no such file in that location (there is one “Qdabra.CabLibWrapper.dll”)

    Was a solution found?

    Hi-

On rare occasions, you may see an error the first time you try to inject. This could indicate that the injector is not set to Run As Admin.

To solve this, close the injector, navigate to C:\Program Files\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules Library, right click on QdabraRulesInjector and select Run As Administrator. You will only need to do this once.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Failed to extract template files

    Thanks Ernesto,

Even though it was installed as admin, I had to go through a de-install/re-install, run as admin to make that issue disappear.

Another question is: Is the "InfoPath to SharePoint List Tool" actually an executable or just a template?

I was able to save a mapping by open in-design the template and using preview, but unsure whether this was the intention. When opening the template, there is a dialog screen that template is already in use (even though everything infopath is closed) and whether I want open in read-only mode. Answering Yes, allows to proceed with the mapping (in preview mode).

Glad that's resolved. Just to be clear, reinstalling is not necessary. The steps I provided should resolve the issue.

The InfoPath to SharePoint list tool is an installable template. Have you installed the template?

In the tool's folder (for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules Library) , you'll find a folder called Forms with instructions on installing the mapping tool. Those steps should also be included int he installation guide but let me know if you did not receive that.

    Thanks.

Re: Failed to extract template files

    Thanks again,

I tried following an example with qrules 2.0 for submitting to an existing sharepoint list.

Everything goes well, until the test. Then I get an error: "The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result Code: 0x80020005)"

The infopath form is set to compatible with Infopath Filler. The error appears for each entry in the repeating table (2 text, 1 date field).

Trust is set to automatic (in reality Domain-level will be used).

Here's a link to the 4.2 walkthrough, just so you have it. What are the data types of the fields you are submitting to? Are they just text? Lookups, perhaps?

    Hi

Hilary has published a thorough walk thru for qRules v4.2, which I would recommend checking out:

    http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/hilary/archive/2012/05/30/qrules-submittosharepointlist-walkthrough-for-v4-2.aspx

I'm not sure what could be going on in your case - I haven't looked at the v2.0 steps in a long time. Anyway, please check out Hilary's blog posts and see if these updated steps help. Thanks!

Re: Failed to extract template files

Already did that, before posting anything on this forum. Her example is with a much more complicated data, but I did follow the steps in spirit.

I will still give it another try.

Again - before you try again, that error is usually because of invalid data submitted to the list. Here's another thread with this error.
