    Creating linked dropdowns?

I'm trying to create a dropdown list of currencies for calculating exchange rate and total. I'd like the user to select a value from the dropdown control (i.e. GBP) and have a field calculate the equvalent value in USD. But I also want to be able to capture the text value of the cuerrency. for example, the following is a sample list of currency and exchange rate: curr exchg rate ADP 118.26 AED 3.67 ALL 98.62 AOA 93.31 I want to be able to surface the text (like "AED") in the list view but use the rate (3.67) in the calculation of USD equiv. I've tried linking fields but I think I'm doing it wrong. I keep getting the exchg rate and not the text to surface. Can someone please point me in the right direction? TIA!

    I think I got it!

    1. Create a textbox set as "read only"
    2. Create a rule on the dropdown to set the value of the textbox = filtered currency datasource where Title = dropdown value.

    I'm liking this thing!

Good job figuring it out on your own - getting the hang of filtering data sources can be a little tricky at first.

Thanks Hilary! It was one of your previous posts that pointed me in this direction. Credit goes to you!
