Option Button to choose data connection.

    Hi!

I have a project to do for my work and i am stuck right now.

I have a form that is connected to a Sql table named: Customers

On my form I have a drop down list box that shows all the name of my customers. When i choose the customer the other text box will auto-populate.

Everything is working good from here.

The problem is that we have to use the same form for another table named: Prospect wich will basically do the same thing.

What I am trying to do right now is to put an Option Button (1. Table:Client  and 2.Table:Prospect) and when we select one of them the drop down list box update automatically with the good data.

I dont know if im clear, but basically I want my drop down list box to show the entries from one of the table depending one wich one we use on the option button..

     Is that possible??

     Please help!

    thank you!

    Hi there,

What I would recommend is to have two dropdown list boxes on your form that displays data from both tables.  Then you want to add formatting rules on each dropdown control such that when the option button value is the other value hide this control.  This should give you the behaviour that you want.  Hope that helps!

I'm fairly new at this myself, but one thing I've done is use multiple views-- go to Page Design / New View and you can have two views that look like they are the same page, but one is for Clients and one is for prospect. They can share fields or they can have a separate set of fields for each View. I hope this makes sense.
