    infopath Print preview Editable.

    Hi,

Usual path to browser based form should be http://testing/_layouts/FormServer.aspx... and if we want to view it as print preview it the path becomes http://testing/_layouts/print.FormServer.aspx and makes everything read only (all fields in the form).

Now this thing works for my one form but not the other form.

I mean by typing this URL: http://testing/_layouts/print.FormServer.aspx...  my first form becomes read only. BUT the second form remains the same (write enabled)

I have tried everything and can't get second form to work... any idea ???

    thanks in advance.

    Regards

Are both your forms designed the same? That is, does one use a print view?

I'm not sure why they'd be behaving differently - but since you are using print views, you may just want to make your controls read only or use expression boxes...

     Hi Hilary,

I think I've made a mistake. Advanced forms option is not enabled as in Pic below but still I can see print view in one form and not in other.

    apologies for getting it wrong.

So, neither of your screen shots show. I'm not sure what you are saying - are you saying that you aren't displaying the print preview button in the ribbon? I'd expect without it, unless you are providing the user a link that will open the print view of the form, that the form won't use the print view - to the best of my knowledge, IPFS won't use a print view unless the print preview button in the ribbon is clicked.

I had an issue with a browser form with some design checker errors in a view (due to some expression box binding) that would not switch to print view on click of print preview. Any design checker errors on your forms?

     Hi,

yeah its been confusing. my bad :(. I'm not showing ribbon at all.

And Yes I'm providing a link for print view but the link works for one form but doesn't work for another. normal form link http://testing/_layouts/FormServer.aspx to make it print view I make it like this http://testing/_layouts/print.FormServer.aspx

There are no design checker errors in form.

I guess if it were my form, I'd trouble shoot by showing the ribbon and trying the print preview button. If it switches to the print view there, I'm not sure why your link wouldn't work for it. But my thought is it won't - so from there it is a matter of trying to figure out why. You could try a different view and a different print view in the same template, to narrow down if it is the view or the form. You could check the SharePoint logs and see if there happens to be any info there....
