InfoPath Dev

Problem: I have two custom lists customers and servers. Then i made infopath form with cascading dropdown list to view customers server information. Now i need to update that server information with that form. Am i banging my head against the wall or how is this possible? I'm newbie to both, SharePoint and InfoPath and my programming skills are little bit limited. I'll take any help available. Thanks

You would likely need to write code. This isn't something InfoPath will do out of the box.

The dropdown would probably also need to be changed to a combobox, such that the user can type in. Then you would need to somehow detect that the user typed in, instead of making a selection, and write that new value to the list.
