InfoPath Dev

I have a requirement of Displaying a column from the SP List, in the External Item Picker in InfoPath 2010. I know it is possible to use BCS and create an ECT in SP 2010 to accomplish this, but in my case it makes no sense to create an ECT since I'm referring to the SP List itself.

What I need to do is, use an External Item Picker instead of a Drop Drown List to show the column data (The list has around 1000 items).

Any pointers will be helpful.

Thanks.

Are you using a custom SP list or an external list?

It is a custom SP list, and not an external list. So this approach wont work.

Thanks anyways.
