    SaveToSharePoint question

    Hi,

I'm now testing the save a file to SharePoint function,  and got it all working.

But I have this question,  what happens if a user uploads a file but then after saving realized they saved the wrong one.   Is there a way to build it so,  they can delete the file from the form and also the Share?

In our current setup,  I know they often update files because they get updated etc and the old ones are no longer needed.   So it would be nice to use the Save to Share feature,  but also still have the ability to delete the files.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,

The DeleteFromSharePoint command will do this if you give it the /url for the file (would be your qRulesLink if you used SaveToSharePoint to save the file). Just give the user a button to delete the file and run the command, then clear the qRulesLink attribute (if you have any conditional formatting going on that displays the link instead of the file attachment control).

Thanks, I'll give that a try next.

Another question I have,  I watched the video and also read this tutorial
    http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/qrules/entry59151.aspx

I'm not quite sure how to implement multiple attachments.  In the tutorial it says to see appendix C for more info,  but the link doesn't go anywhere.

I'm not sure what it means by the 'source' field?   Is that the attachment picker field?  Or something else?

    Thanks!

The source field would be the field bound to the attachment picker.

I'm not sure,  how do you make that repeating?

Is there a tutorial that explains how to have multiple attachments?

Search for "Saving multiple files/images" in your qRules user guide - page 73 in the 4.1 user guide. If you look in the field's properties in InfoPath, there is a repeating checkbox. Selecting that makes the field repeating - is this what you are asking?

I see it in the userguide,  but not been able to get it to work.

If I change my 'file' attachment field to repeating.  I get an error that says 'control cannot store this datatype'

Yes, you would need to remove the file attachment control you currently have on your form and drag the node onto the form again to create a new one that is repeating.

ah OK,  didn't realize I had to delete the old one.   I've added it back,  and I now have a repeating attachment picker.

Back to the deleting the file within the document library;   I've added a button and I've added this code

    DeleteFromSharePoint /url=http://team/sites/msacc//my:myFields/my:file/@my:qRulesLink

It's not working,  when I click it it acts like it's doing something but it doens't delete the file.   I have the error field on my form, and I don't get anything in there.

Am I on the right track?

     Can you try:

    concat("DeleteFromSharePoint /url=",@my:qRulesLink)

I believe that should do the trick...

    I tried this,

    concat("DeleteFromSharePoint /url=",@my:qRulesLink)

    but now when I click the button I get this error;
    Invalid command specified: concat

    Re: SaveToSharePoint question

This is a concat formula. You don't just put it in the "value" field of the action. You need to click the fx button. Then you can add the formula. You will have to use the field picker to select the qRules Link attribute.

You may want to walk through the exercise in the getting started guide that installed with qRules, or take a look at the sample form that also installed with qRules to give you an idea of how it works.

OK,  I used the FX button and added that function.  I used the field picker to select qRules link attribute.

I verified the formula and it says it's OK.

When I test the form,  I now get this error:

Required parameter unspecified: url. Usage is:   DeleteFromSharePoint   /url=Item URL

This error is saying it's not seeing what is in the qRules field right? If so, any ideas why?

    The current formula I'm using

    concat("DeleteFromSharePoint /URL=", @qRulesLink)

    Re: SaveToSharePoint question

You have used the incorrect case for your /url parameter. The formula should use /url with "url" in lower case.

    Re: SaveToSharePoint question

     Hi,

Good day. I would like to inquire if deletefromsharepoint will work for multiple attachment. If I have a repeating table and one of the column contains the direct link to each attachment, will deletefromsharepoint work to delete multiple item in one button click?
