I am creating a workflow form that is to require a signature for approval. Is there a way to tie the signature to an AD account without using any external software? This is my first dally into the infopath world, so please be gentle :)

You can create digital signatures in InfoPath.  There is the signature line control (filler only) and you can make sections be signable which will lock all the controls within that section after signed.
