Saving an infopath form from share point

Hi,  I seem to be having the opposite problem from those that all my research finds.

I have published my IP checklist to the sharepoint portal.  Once the user fills out the form, they can submit successfully.  However, when we go back and try to save a copy of that form to the desktop, or someone else needs a copy (the auditors), I can't save or save as except back to the sharepoint.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi:

Are you opening the form in the browser? If that's the case, I think SharePoint only allows "save as" to the current site. You can save your form locally if your form opens in InfoPath client mode.

As 'Jo' suggestes this is how InfoPath works. But if you urgently need this requirement to be fulfilled what you can also do is that publish the same form to the other library where display in web page should not be enabled. You must have two dataconnections to submit form to two libraries. One where the 'display as web page' is checked' and other where 'display as web page is not checked'.

You can save the form from library to local computer when you click on the submitted form link in the library where 'display as web page' is not checked.

Let me know if you have some questions or concerns.

Ok, thanks to both of you.  I was afraid that may be the situation.  They won't post to two libraries.  Will just have to print it and scan it if they want it electronically!
