    I'm glad it's working.

    I guess my last remaining question is how you ended up with an injector that said qRules v4.1 but without that field in your form. I know that some beta versions of qRules v4.0 were sent out, so I wondered if you were one of the recipients.

    Thanks.

    OH NO - I broke it!!

    I don't know what I did, but I'm getting the "security exception" again! And this time it won't go away. Here's how I got to where I am now;

    I have two computers (lucky me) - computer "A" and computer "B". At the last writing of this thread, I had done everything on computer "A" - working from home. So, I went back to work and downloaded the newest version of qRules onto computer "B" (at work), re-injected the form with this newest version and proceeded to make som minor changes to the form (basically to add a new "debug" field so that I could turn the error message display on and off at my leisure). When I re-published this revised form, nothing happened (as in, the list was not updated). I turned on the "debug" field and, lo-and-behold, the Security Exception was back.

    I re-checked a few things and (I think) I had not changed anything of significance. Then I found a field in the Qdabra data connection "ExtendedErrorMessage' and decided "What the hell, I'll set this field true and see what happens". When I did, this is the error message I get;

    Action: SubmitToSharePointList. Arguments: submit: ProofItemsSubmit mapping: ProofItemsMap id: my:myFields/my:Item_Sel . Details: Security Exception - please check security requirements for this command. Extended Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission, Microsoft.SharePoint.Security, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' failed. at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.SubmitToSharePointList_Browser(String mappingDs, String idXpath, String attachmentXpath, String name, String nameFormat) at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.SubmitToSharePointList() at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.ExecuteCommand() The action that failed was: LinkDemand The type of the first permission that failed was: Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer

    Deos this mean anything to someone there (cause it means nothing to me)?

    Also, it doesn't make any difference if I set the "UseWebService" field true or false, I get the same error message.

    Can you please email a copy of your form to support AT qdabra DOT com, or attach it to a reply to this thread (under the Options tab). Thanks!

    The form xsn is attached. If you need anything else (like the UDCX file for a data connection to a SQL library that has other info, or the mapping file(s) for the Qrules) just let me know.

    Can you do me a favor and give this copy a try? We've got another 4.1 release up that we just posted late last week - we'd run into a few bug regressions. I'm wondering (based on the version injected into your template) if the version you currently have installed is the older one. Rather than have you uninstall and install again, I injected this with the latest released version. Let me know if this resolves your issue.

    Ok, your version works (whew)! So I guess I had better download the newer version (or will I be "safe" in the short-term if I continue to make revisions to your version, as long as I don't have to re-inject the Qrules)?

     In either case, thanks (again) for your help and patience.

    You can just use my version - and don't re-inject with the copy of qRules you currently have installed - I should be the one thanking you for letting us know about the issue!

    Re: SubmitToSharepointList and a Security Exception

    Hello, I'm running into the same problem as described above. I downloaded and installed qRules on the afternoon of Friday, 13th, New Zeland time. Maybe not a good date to install software :) The preview works, but the form on the server doesn't.

    Action: SubmitToSharePointList. Arguments: submit: ShPSubmit mapping: mapping id: my:ID . Details: Security Exception - please check security requirements for this command.

    What should I do? Site is in the local intranet zone.

    Hi teylyn,

    I'm sorry that you're having the same issue. Ernesto Machado has posted a blog with some solutions you can try.

    Please let us know if any of the solutions in that blog resolves your issue.

    Thank you,

    Re: SubmitToSharepointList and a Security Exception

    Hey Jo-Anne, I was just trying this out when your message came in. It is working now, Yay!

    One question: I still have the Command, Result, Success, and Error nodes in the form. The Success node is ticked, but the Command node is empty. Shouldn't the Command field show the command that was submitted? Maybe I made a mistake setting it up. I'm verrrry green when it comes to InfoPath per se, and qRules seems like higher maths right now.

    Thanks for your speedy reply.

    Re: SubmitToSharepointList and a Security Exception

    I think that is by design. If you want to display the actual command in the view, you can add a rule (for example, in your submit button), to set the value of another text field equal to the qRules' command and then display that text field in the view. There's an explanation behind it but I need to find that out with the team.

    At any rate, the important thing is that you're getting "Success" checked, no errors in the Error node, and your item is submitted to the SharePoint list as expected.

    Thanks,

    I had a look at the qRules form and saw how it's being done there with a helper field. All set now. Really appreciate the speedy replies of this forum.

    cheers, Ingeborg

    Correct, that's how it works with the qRules sample form. =) I'm glad you got it all figured out.
