how to set up Browse button for attach file and hide/show it

    Hello

I've only started infopath 2010 a few days ago and would like to inquire how to create a basic browse button that would act similar to the attach file button with the url for the file location in a single line text box beside it. The reason im asking for this is that the column this button is in needs to be hidden unless a specific dropdown choice value is chosen above it. I couldn't use the attachfile field as its not what im being told to use.

So I made a field above the browse button that would ask how would a person choose to pay, whether it is by cash or check. if its check, the field will appear and request that a file to be attached and the browse button along with the textbox will be there for the file attachment.

I've really searched around this side of the forums and i'm really confused as to how to do it. if anyone can even explain how to apply it step-by-step, i'd be grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello-

So you have a place in the form where the user selects Cash or Check, and you want to display a certain set of controls for each selection.

The easiest alternative is to add a section. You can then hide/show this section according to the selection made by the user,

I'm attaching a very simple form which you can open in design mode, look at the form logic, then preview to see it all in action.

    Hope this helps.
