    Data Connection File Name String

    I am using InfoPath 2007 connection to 2010 SharePoint. I am trying to create a unique file name each and every time someone files it out without using the Now function to keep it clean and neat.  I do not want to overwrite existing records due to the nature of the form. I was trying to use a concat string to include the contact selector DisplayName and Count Function for DisplayName however is does not display as I intended.  See example below.

     I tried entering concat("DisplayName -", count(DisplayName)) when I click OK it displays: concat("my:ContactSelector/my:Person/my:DisplayName -", count(DisplayName)) and when form is submitted  displays as my_ContactSelector_my_Person_my_DisplayName -1

    I just want it to display as Gullion Adam 1 the first time i enter the form and Gullion Adam 2 then next time etc.

    Any suggestions?

    Remove the quotes around your xpath and the dash at the end.  Then try again and see if that works.

    Anson, Thanks for the sugesstion.  When I try that I get a error

     A number is required.
    concat(my:ContactSelector/my:Person/my:DisplayName --->,<-- count(my:ContactSelector/my:Person/my:DisplayName))

    Just inserting the people picker into a blank form, this is the formula you should use: concat(my:group/pc:Person/pc:DisplayName, count(my:group/pc:Person/pc:DisplayName)).  Not sure why its saying a number is required.
