I am hiding a section on the status of workflow, i set the conditional formatting, hide the section when the workflow column is blank or not present. when published it to the document library the section hiding is not working for some existed documents, where the work flow is already initiated. when i add a new document it's working fine. when i tried using different conditions, the document library behavour is strange for existed documents.

i am using infopath 2007, infopath client only, and the the data connection is from active data for the current document. any suggestions can help.

I would first start debugging your form by extracting your condition statements and dumping them onto the form as calculated values to see what is going on.  Perhaps there is something wrong with your logic when dealing with existing documents that is causing the rule to fail.  Once you figure out why the rule isn't triggering the hide, you can rewrite the rule to make it work for both cases.
