Infopath templates with same data connection --> huge performance difference

    Dear Infopath Experts;-)

I'm facing an issue with an infopath template right now, and I have no idea why this issue appears. Maybe someone of you has an idea how to solve the problem.

I have created six Infopath forms to save measurement data into an xml file. One part of the templates (lets call it header section) contains exactly the same fields in all templates. The data in this fields is updated automatically through a secondary data source. This data connection in linked to a MS SQL Server database and the data is selected through product number. The fields which are updated are exactly the same in all forms. Data connection is saved in a file and contains therefore exactly the same settings in all forms.

Five templates are working fine, means, I fill in the product number, it takes as 2-3 seconds and the data shows up. In one template, the data needs about 10minutes to show up, means I fill in the product number, sand-clock and *not responding* appears. But after 10 minutes the data is also there.

I have absolutely no idea why this issue appears. The set up of data connection and fields, and rules is exactly the same on alle forms. I have checked it via LogicInspector. Has anyone an idea why there could be such a huge performance difference?

You say the data is selected through product number. Is the data in the database (all product numbers) quite large? This might imply to me that your query in the last form is not successfully retrieving/filtering for only the records matching the product number being queried.

Instead it is retrieving ALL records, and THEN filtering via conditional formatting on the form. You could test this by making a new view and putting the datasource on it without any conditional formatting (just drag the whole dtasource onto the view) Then run the query as normal and check that view to see how much data is actually coming back.

If this is the problem, you may just need to recreate the dataconnection again - compare it to the other forms dataconnections and make sure it's all the same.
One key option is the tick box called 'Allow multiple records to be retrieved' or something like that when setting up the main dataconnection via the wizard.
