Now when the form is created, my list info is displayed in a repeating table I have the ability to edit the fields but when i save it. It doesn’t update the list when i reopen the fourm it reverts back to how the list was.

So this is using the Save operation, where the user is asked for a filename? If so, I don't think there's any connection set up between this form and the SharePoint list, so the SharePoint list would indeed not be updated.

Can I propose an alternative? In your SharePoint list, in the ribbon, there should be an icon to customize the InfoPath form. SharePoint will launch the InfoPath designer and provide you with a form that will allow users to edit the list items. This is probably the easiest option - can you try it and let us know whether it addresses your scenario?
